Dr. Mendicino is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. With decades of experience in ankle replacement and reconstruction, he also specializes in arthroscopy of the ankle, deformity correction, foot and ankle surgery and limb salvage. Dr. Mendicino has been a team surgeon for high school and college sport teams and has been treating and training athletes for over 25 years.

In addition to board certification in foot surgery and rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgery, Dr. Mendicino is a member of the Education and Scientific Committee for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is experienced in the latest techniques and treatments and has trained physicians in other parts of the country in these advancements. Dr. Mendicino is an experienced lecturer both nationally and abroad, has published over 100 peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters and holds a patent in computer assisted orthopedic surgery with Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute.

Dr. Mendicino holds or has held numerous medical school and university appointments and is the past president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Mendicino received his podiatric medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Loretto Hospital, both in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate education at California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania.

With a conservative approach centered on patient education and understanding, Dr. Mendicino actively works to get his patients back on their feet as quickly as possible.

Married for 27 years with two children, Dr. Mendicino enjoys running, cycling, hunting, fishing, woodworking and occasional golf.
